If I had to guess, I would say crafting has only given me about 2-3 million of my 20 million gil. I craft with the intention to level up, and I just sell whatever I make along the way. I currently have about 20 million gil between my 2 retainers and myself, and without any hardcore crafting/gathering (I do craft, but I don't sit down for hours with the intention to make gil.
